Snapdragon 820 Specs
Snapdragon 820 |
The new Snapdragon 820 has been discussed frequently over
the past few days. After the big overheating issue that engrosses the previous
Snapdragon 810 and took its cost on Qualcomm's survival in the phone industry,
the company needs to make some major changes with its upcoming next generation chip snapdragon 820. A lot of roomers are floating about the Snapdragon 820
and its success, which has made the industry more curious to know more about
the silicon chip.
The Snapdragon 820 was initially announced in March at the
Mobile Congress trade show in Spain, but the company has not share too many
information about it yet. The chip might be introduced again on 11th August in
Los Angeles, but a China based analyst has already revealed what it is going to
offer.
The processor is expected to be designed by using the 14nm
FinFET technology, as like iPhone 6s processor. The central processing unit
will have only four Hydra 64-bit CPUs.
The Snapdragon 820 will also able to support dual channel LPDDR4
memory with the speeds of more than 1688 Mhz. Front and back camera abilities
have also been improved greatly. The new processor will able to support up to
28MP cameras with post-processing DSP and programmable preprocessing, which
will offer manufacturers a high level of control on its devices.
Naturally, the improvements in multimedia have been manifest
in the hardware as well. The new Snapdragon 820 chip will come fully equipped
to handle 4K videos at 60fps with no distortion. Another amazing new update is
a dedicated low powered sensor for controlling "emerging always on
cases".
Yet it’s not much clear about which tablets or smartphones will
be the first to put the Snapdragon 820 chip inside, but Qualcomm will have this
chip ready at the end of this year, it means that the processor will be placed
in new devices that come in stores in the first Quarter of 2016.
