The Week of Google Things

Google Products

Google defeated the technology headlines in this week. It released a new model of its Chromecast Television streamer called the Chromecast 2, and an only audio streamer named the Audio Chromecast; it revealed the Pixel C, the first official tablet from Google and a competitive competitor to Microsoft Surface and interestingly, it’s an Android device rather than Chrome OS one; and two new phablets/phone, the Nexus 6p and Nexus 5X.

The $379 Nexus 5X is "run an unlocked version of Android Marshmallow and phone comes with a 5.2 inch 1080p screen and Qualcomm 808 processor. Cameras are the best kicker: now there is a 5 megapixel selfie camera on the front and a 12.3 megapixel rear camera," Matt Swider reports, and the $499 Nexus 6P comes with " 5.7 inch AMOLED screen, with a Qualcomm 810 octa core CPU and 3GB of main memory. Same as the Nexus 5X, the rear camera of Nexus 6P is 12.3 megapixels, while the front camera is now upgrade to 8 megapixel. Both handsets also support Type-c USB connectors and support a sensor for fingerprinting on the back."

Not all the news about Google was good, though. In this week, Reuters reported that FTC is inquiring Google's bundling of its applications with Android, some apps that can fall foul of anti trust law.
